Resource Mobilization Department

Although Pakistan is marching ahead towards achieving Education for All (EFA) goals i.e. to achieve 100% literacy rate by the year 2015 yet there is a long way ahead to achieve it. Our current literacy rate according to the Federal Ministry of Education is 46%. But on the other hand independent sources do not agree with this. Anyhow, whatever the case may be the need is to pay heed to education sector so that Pakistan could stand above its shoulders in the comity of nations.

Ghazali Education Trust (GET) was established with the mission and vision to provide quality education to the poor and deserving in the rural areas of Pakistan.

Ghazali Education Trust (GET) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, working on education in the deprived and far-flung areas of Pakistan with a heavy profile of having established 354 schools with strength of 44,000 students, employing 2250 teachers in rural areas of Pakistan. We also propose more schools not only in the rural area of Pakistan but also in the quake stricken areas.

For this big cause we need massive financial resources and keeping in view the burgeoning need to collect financial resources from independent sources by contacting the individual and organizational donors, the Management of Ghazali Education Trust decided to establish Resource Mobilization Department with the following members:

  1. Manager
  2. Program Officer
  3. Assistant Program Officer
  4. Assistant to Program Officer

Main Responsibilities/Job Descriptions

  • Develop Public awareness plans for GET and its projects
  • Design and execute volunteer management system
  • Design and successfully execute different fundraising campaigns
  • Use variety of tools and fundraising vehicles for visibility and fundraising (Direct mail, public collection committed giving, zakat & wakf, donation in kind, sponsorship etc)
  • Prepare proposals, appeals and reports both for individual and institutional donors
  • Pay special attention to donors in corporate sector
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the board
  • Providing constant feedback to the donors( both direct and via IMD)
  • Collaborating with IMD for maintaining donors’ database and records


Strategy

General

  • A tentative annual target for donating amount shall be set so that the fundraising activities could be focused accordingly.
  • RMD shall collect the data of all the potential donors belonging to any category.
  • At the first place, RMD shall contact the potential donors in their respective reference pool belonging to any category e.g. land lords, real estate tycoons, traders, big shop keepers etc.
  • RMD shall coin a category list for the donors i.e. adopt a school category, adopt a child category, own a workshop category, own a teacher, general category, furniture, life membership etc.
  • Membership campaign shall be launched not only in the rich people but also in the middle class; & all those who are willing to join us.
  • Our donors and members shall refer us potential donors whom RMD shall contact instantly;
  • RMD shall invite all team members (ATMs) working in the head office for suggestions/proposals and potential donors’ references;
  • RMD shall devise and ensure a transparency and accountability process with the help of GET’s finance Deptt.
  • All the potential donors shall be contacted individually and then a donors’ conference shall be arranged for all potential donors and members;
  • Annual Gazette for members and donors along with the details of donation spending shall be published;
  • Resources required for the campaign shall be asked to the Executive Director or any person concerned;
  • Volunteer forum shall be established

Corporate Sector

  • RMD shall collect data of all the units in corporate sector including their owners or other concerned persons;
  • RMD shall seek a reference or prefer to contact those tycoons through some influential persons of renown;
  • RMD team shall give them proper presentation on GET program(s)/project(s) for which the donations are being asked for;
  • RMD shall help market/promote the commodities of our donors’ manufacturing units where possible;
  • RMD may offer to particular corporate donor(s) fulfilling some specific conditions kind of collaboration in social uplift plan devised by the GET team.
  • RMD shall offer the membership of Ghazali Education Forum to keep the donors on board through out.
